My Life as a Writer

I was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana and adopted by a wonderful couple.  We moved to Michigan when I was 7 years old and I had a happy childhood.

I spent a lot of time with my Great Aunt; an English and History professor.  She was the one who got me excited about the power of words. She told me a lot of stories about the past, and we discussed books, life, and how it could be captured. Unfortunately, she passed away when I was only fifteen.

I’ve been able to see and talk to ghosts for as long as I can remember. As a child, I thought everyone could do it.

I soon learned that to be able to see and talk to the dead was not socially acceptable – go figure.  So I hid my gift from everyone until I went to college.  There, I met a psychology professor who was also a paranormal researcher.  It was then that I learned my ability was a precious gift, and I have spent many years developing and honing my gifts to help others.
