1. HOW DID YOU GET STARTED AS A WRITER?
That is an interesting story. I have always been writing, but never seriously until one day my husband and I built a new house. The lawn and fence had not been installed yet, so I walked my dogs through the woods by our house. One late spring day, I was walking the dogs down by a big ditch that ran through the woods. It was a glorious day. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and I looked down into the ditch and thought to myself, “What a great place to dump a dead body!” Right then and there the whole plot for Telltale Signs popped into my head. I raced home and started writing. The rest, as they say, is history.
2. AREN’T YOU AFRAID OF THE GHOSTS?
That depends on the ghost. Most of the time the ghosts are friendly. They just want to be acknowledged, deliver a message, or have some unfinished business they want to complete before they go into the light and cross over to the other side. Although I have run into some not-so-friendly ghosts, and other types of entities, they are few and far between. You just learn to deal with them like you have to deal with difficult living people in your life. It is really no different, except ghosts don’t have bodies. I have often said that sometimes the actions of the living scare me much more than the actions of the dead.
